It lets you gently assist your dog from the rear without pulling on the collar or neck, which is useful for stairs, getting in and out of the car, vet visits and short assisted walks.
Unlike a basic under-belly sling that can slide, bunch up or press into the abdomen, this harness wraps around the hips and hind legs. Hind-leg sleeves help keep the support in place and are designed to distribute lift around the rear legs. Reflective straps help improve visibility during low-light potty breaks. Measure around your dog's rear waist and hip area before ordering, and choose the larger size if your dog is between sizes. The harness should feel snug but not tight, with room for two fingers between the harness and your dog.
Use this harness under supervision only. Introduce it gradually and reward calm wearing, and adjust the fit so it supports without rubbing or pinching. It is a mobility aid, not a medical device, so follow your veterinarian's guidance for dogs with injuries, pain or recent surgery.
